Why Does the Federal Government Still List Marijuana as a Schedule I Drug, Despite Countless Study’s…?
Question by Kimadian: Why does the federal government still list Marijuana as a Schedule I drug, despite countless study’s…?
That prove otherwise?
“Schedule I drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. Schedule I drugs are the most dangerous drugs of all the drug schedules with potentially severe psychological or physical dependence.” – Taken straight from their website.

In other words, they claim marijuana is more dangerous than meth and cocaine, which are listed as Schedule II drugs.
There are countless study’s that prove otherwise, including some study’s of their own! Google it for yourself, there are government study’s that proves THC from cannabis fights off leukemia and lung cancer cells.
There are many other examples of the medical benefits of marijauna, that helps aid patients, chemotherapy patients, anorexia, etc.
Not to mention the fact that we’ve spend at LEAST $ 42 Billion dollars in the War on Drugs (more specifically marijuana) every year. If you include all drugs that number goes up to about $ 51 Billion.

Why spend so much on something many people need? Obviously there are people who are gonna abuse it, but by that logic shouldn’t we ban alcohol as well? Alcohol is clearly more dangerous than marijuana, especially when taken in higher amounts.

The most recent studies show marijuana to be far more harmful than previously believed.
Beside that , isn’t spending a hundred or more a 1/4 to get stupid , hungry and lazy kind of a waste ?

That will change soon. Even Republicans are becoming in favor of legalization, as libertarians take over.
