How can a decade strengthen a country?
Your question is not clear, and not a very logical one either.
Best do something about it, or your asking this question at the last minute will just be a waste of time.

So you’re asking “Did US Involvement in Vietnam strengthen the USA?” and asking for information to support both sides ??
Okay, I’ll give some data to support the “Yes”:
– We developed a great deal of military technology as a result.
Night vision devices
Laser-guided bombs
Helicopter gunships
Advances in trauma-surgery
– We developed a great number of Field-grade Officers and NCO’s who would learn from the MISTAKES of Vietnam and apply it to later training and conflict.
– Vietnam gave Nixon an inroad to opening discussions with Communist China, who we used as a lever against the Soviet Union.
– Sadly, we developed a healthy concern/distrust for our own Government.
– Vietnam taught us VALUABLE lessons about unconventional warfare.
– Vietnam gave us valuable information about drug-addiction.
GOOD LUCK on your test.
