Don’t You Think the School System Should Provide a Class About Sex and Drugs?

Question by Dj: Don’t you think the school system should provide a class about sex and drugs?
I see too many people that used drugs wrongfuly, and people that became sex addicts and they can’t form healthy relationships because the individual needs sex; it’s not something special between him and his partner anymore. People tell teens “don’t do drugs”, which of course they’re gonna do regardless. Because they DO do them either way, they have nobody to tell them how to moderate, or use them to just feel good once in a while. I have a lot of friends that are hooked on cocaine, or could have used marijuana wisely had they had some guidance. For my idea, I think of a class where they introduce to freshman high school students how drugs affect the body. About dependence, addiction, and how they can end up if they abuse drugs or have too much loveless sex; because sex IS a drug. Had I had someone to tell me to only smoke weed once a week, and the importance of me doing this, I would have listened. Because of weed, I had a little taste of dependence that I got past over the course of a couple of months. Thank god it was only weed, and not cocaine, alcohol or nicotine; something that is truly addicting and my body would NEED to function. The problem is that people that start doing drugs don’t realize how addicted they are until they run out of money or their dealer runs out of his supply. At this point, its too late… If I was a teacher, ide be pushing my school for this class for incoming middle school students. If they knew, many less would suffer through drug problems, and could live a healthier life.
Drugs aren’t bad in my opinion, its the way people use them that portrays them as bad. Don’t agree with me? fine. just answer the question.
and nobody’s gonna listen to a cop. I say we give them a regularly scheduled class, not just once a week… This idea isnt as horrible as you people may think, your just scared of drugs. trust me, if you had a teacher that actually gave a shit, they could make a huge impact on peoples lifes. And I wouldn’t be the one saying “hey these are drugs, if your gonna do them; this is how to”. NO. I just wanna make them aware of what theyre getting themeselves into.
to the top contributors.* Morals SHOULD be learned by parents, but i see too many kids that have parents that ust don’t care. They just expect the kid to grow up and understand everything. so, if a kid IS genetically prone to addiction to cocaine, and they had this course, they might think twice overdoing it; because they WILL do it eventually. I wish all kids had the willpower to just say no, but that’s not how it works. My parents are people of god, they taught me resoect and I have good moral standards; but that doesnt make me smart in the world of drugs., and too many people find out the hard way. Had someone told thm, they wouldnt say “I wish I never started doing drugs” so often.

“they have nobody to tell them how to moderate, or use them to just feel good once in a while”

Oh yeah, let’s tell a bunch of impressionable young teenagers to consume an illegal substance ONLY ONCE IN A WHILE.
