Drug & Alcohol Abuse Activity?
Question by montescheyenne: Drug & Alcohol Abuse Activity?
There is an activity out there that I remember doing in middle school and I really wanted to get the lesson plan to do with a few kids I work with. I was hoping someone out there knows what activity I’m talking about and where I can get the “questions and lesson plan.”
Here’s how it went…I remember being given several different colors of paper slips to write on, there were different categories to write about, like on the three green papers, you wrote the names of three family members who meant the most to you, on the blue it was three friends who meant the most, yellow was the three things you most wished to do with your life, and red was the three most important personal items to you. You kept them to yourself if you wanted but you knew what they were. The “teacher” would read out a little scenario about drugs and alcohol use and then at the end of the scenario you were told a color and from the color you wrote on you had to chose one of those people/things to rip up. This represented you losing that person or thing due to drugs/alcohol. I remember it was a hard hit home because you begin to be left with very few things and you lose those who are most important to you and it becomes a real reality.
This is an example of it.
If anyone has done this and remembers or knows how to get the lesson for this, please help me? I’ve tried googling it but there’s so much its overwhelming. Please and Thanks.

I have never heard of this, but what an excellent demo.
It sounds pretty complete the way you describe it.
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
