Health overhaul could stress RI addiction services

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island's substance abuse treatment system could be overwhelmed next year when tens of thousands of people with drug and alcohol problems suddenly become eligible for health insurance under the federal health overhaul and a state Medicaid expansion, the state health and human services secretary said.
