How Long Does the Feeling Last if You Snort Around 10-20 Mg of Ritalin?
Question by Everblades: How long does the feeling last if you snort around 10-20 mg of Ritalin?
Doing this for some research on how different drugs affect the body. Generally, (and yes, I’ve done illegal drugs in my younger years) I have heard it compared similarly to cocaine. If it is actually like cocaine, how long do the effects last? I’ve heard people say it keeps them up, but how long do you get a “high” off it, if you actually do get high or inebriated in some way. Thanks for all answers in advance.

Considering you only railed 10-20 mg of Ritalin, which is a very low dose, it will probably only last a couple hours.
I’ve snorted over 100mg of Ritalin, and yes it last a very long time, 14+ hours. Horrible comedown, not as bad as crystal meth though. And please don’t try it.
Yes it is similar to the cocaine high, targeting the dopamine system, and also producing euphoria. I would compare it to a light dose of meth.

“Even when Ritalin is used as prescription drug, it may have severe side effects including nervousness, insomnia (when someone is unable to sleep), anorexia (eating disorder), pulse changes, heart problems and weight loss. The manufacturer says it is a drug of dependency.
In June 2005, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a series of public health advisories warning that Ritalin and drugs like it may cause visual hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, psychotic behavior, as well aggression and violence behavior.
One writer put it this way: “Parents are never told: ‘Oh, by the way, once in a while a child dies simply by taking their prescribed medication.’ Or ‘By the way, children on stimulant medications have twice the future rate of drug abuse.’ Or ‘By the way, one third of all children on these medications develop symptoms of obsessive-compulsive behavior within the first year.’” ”
“Does Ritalin Work?
The next question which has to be asked is: `Does Ritalin work?’
Well, I’m afraid that I can’t answer that question. And I honestly don’t think anyone else can either. Novartis, the drug company which is now responsible for Ritalin in the UK, admits that `data on…efficacy of long term use of Ritalin are not complete’.
With Ritalin having been on the market and used for this condition for over three decades, and with some experts saying that a million children a year are given Ritalin in the U.S. alone you might find this a trifle disappointing.
One five year study of hyperactive children who were given Ritalin at Montreal Children’s Hospital found that the children did not differ in the long term from hyperactive children who were not given the drug. At least one investigator has reported that drugs like Ritalin may produce a deterioration in learning new skills at school …”
