My Boyfriends Oxycontin “Habit”, Way to Notice His High?
Question by Sun Kissed: My boyfriends Oxycontin “Habit”, way to notice his high?
I recently discovered my boyfriend, also the father of my 6 month old son, has been snorting Oxycontin. About three weeks ago he broke down and told me he started doing and had been for about a month, but he was done with it for good.
When I first found out I started crying, and yelling – but now I can barely even think about it with out getting so upset that i become physically sick and can’t stop vomiting. It’s been so hard for me to be around him lately, I’m having to fake all happiness with him because I can’t believe he would do something like that with our baby at home and all the addiction in his family – he is young, 19, but that’s no excuse. I can’t even stand knowing that he is the man i sleep next to at night.
I can’t leave him. I’m only 18 and HAVE to get my college degree, and the only way to do that is by having his support financially and with the baby. I think he is still snorting it. He came home last night from work with really, really glassy eyes. He was very relaxed, and upbeat, and talkative…. a little to much for 1130pm! Are three any ways to tell for sure when he is on it? Because for the whole month he started doing them, I had no clue until he told me.

You cannot and should not ever rely on support from a drug addict.
First that habit will eventually cost him everything financially.
Never ever leave your child in his care. To do so is child abuse and could cause you to lose custody and be charged. Even worse something could happen to your child. Drug users do not make wise rational decisions as you have already seen.
You can believe it he comes from a family with addiction and that is what he is. Expect him to be very much the same.
This will only get worse not better.
