Rarely in our society do we call them orphanages any longer. Most of the time they are referred to as Children’s Homes, because it is rare that they house children who are in reality; orphans.

The children that stay in the homes are generally children that come from abusive, drug addiction or neglectful situations and have been placed temporarily until such time as they can be returned to their normal environment.

Depending on the home in question they offer a variety of benefits. Good food, shelter, clothing, schooling, medical attention and counseling if necessary and “house parents” who genuinely care for the children.

In a Christian Children’s Home they will also receive Christian teaching, church attendance and bible study along with their regular classes.

They will be among other children of various ages who are in similar situations with similar backgrounds which enables them to share their experiences which can result in healing of the mind, body and soul.
