Why Is It Not Allowed to Correct People Who Post in the Wrong Category on Y!A?

Question by Stymie Arthur: Why is it not allowed to correct people who post in the wrong category on Y!A?
People are ALWAYS posting things on the Beer, Wine and Spirits category that has NOTHING to do with any of those things. It’s questions about cooking, weed or other drugs and tobacco. Why if I answer saying that those questions are not on topic, I get a violation but the people who are clearly posting in the wrong place don’t; on a side note drugs are illegal! Shouldn’t that be a violation?

Depends, if the question doesn’t belong any category or can belong to several categories. But if it is totally unrelated to the category then I think that is an annoyance. It is not allowed to correct people because yahoo did not add that feature I guess
